Funding Opportunities for Healthy Activity Programmes
There is currently a funding pot available to support organisatons across somerset to re-start or create new health and physical activity initiatives.
The Together Fund
Please Note: Applications for The Together Fund have now closed.
The Together Fund is a continuation of the Tackling Inequalities Fund (TIF) that was set up in April 2020 as part of Sport England's support package to help the sport and physical activity sector through the coronavirus crisis.
Phase 4 of the fund has seen another £20 million of National Lottery funding committed to help the groups that, from Sport England's insight, were being disproportionately affected by the pandemic, significantly impacting their ability to be physically active.
Money from the Together Fund will be prioritised for the following four key audiences:
- Lower socio-economic groups
- Culturally diverse communities
- Disabled people
- People with long term health conditions (LTHC)
1 in 4 people within Somerset live with a LTHC. During the COVID-19 pandemic, access to physical activity opportunities for people managing LTHC has been significantly reduced. Lockdowns and closure of venues have all contributed to fewer classes and groups taking place. With many of those individuals living with LTHC now having received all vaccinations, confidence for those shielding is returning. Many have suffered deconditioning or had limited movement for over 12 months.
If your organisation or community group supports people living with one or more long term health condition and funding would be useful to help you restart or expand your physical activity offer, please click on the link below for more information.
