Move to Include
Move to Include is a programme whereby professionals, families or individuals themselves can nominate a person with a disability, who wishes to take part in a community sports club or physical activity. The project aims to help people access a community club or local opportunity based on their interests and needs. SASP will support that individual to find an opportunity that will help improve their mental, social and physical wellbeing, whether that be walking, tennis, wheelchair rugby, multi sports or accessing their local gym.
Please note, we are initially piloting this project in Bridgwater, but hoping to expand to the wider community in the future.
Nominating Individuals for Move to Include
To nominate a person into the Move to Include programme please complete our nomination form.
Before you submit the nomination please read the following:
- Nominations can be made for people with a disability or special educational needs.
- the person needs to have an interest in being active and improving their health or reducing their isolation.
- the person you are nominating is in agreement of the nomination.
- the aim of our programme is to support individuals into a community sports club/active group so if they are already in one of these settings we would advise not to put a nomination in.
- we don't provide transport for the individual to get to their chosen community provision, so they will need to have their own support with this or be able to walk/cycle if appropriate. However, SASP will look to attend up to 3 sessions with the individual to build their confidence and support the club understand their needs.
